Coeburn, VA ~ Theordius 'Bud' Miller, 83 passed away Saturday, February 12, 2011 at his residence in Coeburn Virginia. He was a member of UMWA. He was the son of the late Douglas Fairbanks Miller and Mamie Miller; also preceeded in death by one daughter, Fanetta Banks; one son, Douglas Fairbanks Miller Sr.; two sisters, Rosalee Sanders and Katherine Adams; one brother, Willie Talford. Survivors include, special friend and mother, Mamie Courtney; five daughters, Rebecca Felix, Raleigh, NC, Wanda Forney, Baltimore, MD, Cynthia "Miller" Courtney, Coeburn, Elizabeth Hill, Norton, and Tina Thompson, Upper Marlboro, MD; four sons, Kenneth Miller , Jacksonville, NC, Robert Miller, John "Miller" Courtney and Theodore 'Moe' "Miller" Courtney, all of Coeburn; Several grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and sons-in law and daughters-in-law.

Coeburn, VA ~ Gregory Dean Pennington, 53 passed away Sunday, February 13, 2011 at Norton Community Hospital in Norton Virginia. He was employed by Virginia Department of Transportation for 27 years. Preceeded in death by his father, Erskine Dale Pennington and a sister, Patricia Ann Hamilton. Survivors include his mother, Joan Marie Pennington, Coeburn; three brothers, Gary Ray Pennington, Larry Wayne Pennington, and Thomas Dale Pennington, all of Coeburn, VA.
Visitation for Gregory Dean Pennington will be held after 5:00 PM on Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at Estes Funeral Home Chapel and funeral services will be held at 7:00 P.M. with Rev. James Wilson officiating. Burial will be Thursday February 17, 2011 at 1:00 P.M. Temple Hill Memorial Park. The family will meet at the funeral home at 12:15 P.M. Arrangements by Estes Funeral Home, Coeburn, VA.

St. Paul, VA ~ Mozell 'Nig' Bond Hamm, 81, passed away Saturday, February 19, 2011 at her residence at Sandy Ridge. She spent most of her married life in Sandusky where she was employed by Firelands Regional Medical Center for 21 years. She was the daughter of the late Loranza 'Ranza' Bond and Luvenia K. Bond; also preceded in death by 12 brothers and sisters. She loved spending time with her kids, grandkids and great grandkids, also enjoyed crocheting. Due to her failing health the past few years she served the Lord from her home and sought his love and strength through trying times. Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Freddie C. Hamm, St. Paul; 3 daughters, Rhonda Matter, and husband David, North Fort Myers, FL, Sharon Miller, and husband, Richard, Castalia, OH, Karen Meade, and husband, Randall, Sandy Ridge; 2 sons, Rick Hamm, and Peggi, Bellevue, OH, and Randy Hamm, St. Paul; 12 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, several neices and nephews.

Ralph E. 'Cooboy' Ring
Coeburn, VA ~ Ralph Edward 'Cooboy' Ring Jr., 74, passed away peaceful Saturday, February 19, 2011 at Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport Tennessee. He was a past employee of VICC Coal Company and and Ring Coal. He enjoyed the outdoors with his dog Rascal and working in the garden. He was preceded in death by his parents Ralph and Nell Ring, one sister, Betty Jean Ring and a brother Roy Joe Ring. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Shirley Ring; niece/daughter, Sherry Lynn Armbruister; one sister, Anna Ruth Richardson (Johnny), Coeburn; three brothers, Willis Ring (Pat), Big Stone Gap, Sam Ring (Ruby), Norton, and John Ring (Dorothy), Coeburn; sister-in-law, Peggy Satterfield, Coeburn; special friends, Jeff and Kim Robinette and Ronald Porter; special niece, Betty J. Kern and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Ralph E. 'Cooboy' Ring will be held on Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Estes Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Leslie Ritchie officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Acres Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held Monday after 6:00 P.M. at Estes Funeral Home. Pall bearers will be Bill Begley, Tim Begley, Tommy Noonchester, Dale Dotson, Ronald Porter and Sammy Ring. Arrangements by Estes Funeral Home, Coeburn, VA.

Rev. James Enoch 'Jim' Mullins
Louisville, KY ~ Rev. James Enoch 'Jim' Mullins, 69, passed away Thursday, February 24, 2011 at Hosparus In Patient Care Center in Louisville, Kentucky. He was a United Methodist Minister for 20 years serving several churches in Kenucky. He also served a police officer for 10 years in Coeburn, Virginia, in the U.S. Army for 10 years during the Vietnam Era. Also was a member of Irvington Masonic Lodge, Irvington, KY. He was the son of the late Dallas C. Mullins and Janice Velmo Mullins. Survivors include his wife, Lois Reed Mullins, Louisville, KY; Three Daughters, Jananette L. Mullins, Pheonix, and Lovalerie L. Mullins, both of Pheonix, AZ, Jimmi Savannah Stone, Laconia, IN; One Son, Joshua Enoch Mullins, Louisville, Ky.; One Sister, Ieata Mullins, Coeburn; Two Brothers, Harless Avery Mullins , Coeburn, and Roger Allen Mullins, Abingdon, VA; 7 grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services and Entombment for Rev. James Enoch 'Jim' Mullins will be held on Saturday, February 26, 2011, 12:00 Noon at Temple Hill Memorial Park with Rev. Gary " Pete"Pardue officiating.
